Gordon R. Metz, a beef cattle and hay producer, has been on the board for more than a decade. He began his Farm Bureau career in 1972 when he served on the Henry County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. He was elected to the state board in 1986.

From 1978 until 1980, Metz served as president of the Henry County Farm Bureau. During that time--from 1979 until 1981--Metz was chairman of the VFBF Midwest District Young Farmers' Committee.

Metz currently serves as chairman of both the Farm Bureau Equine Advisory and the New Services committees. He also is a member of the FB Budget and Audit Advisory Committee

The Henry County native is a former president off the Figsboro Ruritan Club and the Augusta Military Academy Alumni Association.
