Stephen Saufley, a Rockingham County cattleman, has been farming since 1970.

Saufley is past president of the Rockingham County Farm Bureau. He has been a member of Farm Bureau since 1975 and has served on the county's board of directors since 1977.

He serves as chairman of the Farm Bureau Rural Health Advisory Committe and is a member of the FB Investment and Finance Committee.

The graduate of Nashville Auto Diesel College was responsible for organizing the Rockingham County Young Farmers' Committee in 1977.

He is a past member of the board of directors of Rockingham Petroleum Cooperative and has worked as a school bus driver.
