Henry E. Wood Jr. was elected December 2002 to serve on the VFBF Board of Directors. He replaces Jacquelin Easter, who resigned from the board Jan. 1, 2003. He will serve the remaining two years of Mrs. Easter's term.

The Buckingham County poultry and beef producer also serves on the VFBF Poultry Advisory Committee.

Wood has been president of the Buckingham County Farm Bureau and served on the organization's board of directors.

He and his wife, Dixie, own and operate a 750-acre farm, where they raise broiler chickens for Tyson Foods. He is a past master with Stonewall Lodge and chairman for the board of deacons for Jones Chapel Church.

Wood and his family were the 1974 VFBF Young Farm Family award winners.
