Northumberland County farmer re-elected to
Farm Bureau board
Robert E. Hall of Heathsville was elected Nov. 28 to a fifth three-year term on the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation board of directors. Elections of officers and directors were held at the organization’s 2007 Annual Convention in Chantilly.
Hall chairs the VFBF Grain Marketing Advisory Committee and Soybean & Feed Grains Advisory Committee. As a board member he will represent Farm Bureau producer members in Caroline, Essex, Gloucester, Mathews, King and Queen, King William, Middlesex, Northumberland, Lancaster, Richmond and Westmoreland counties.
Hall operates a 2,000-acre cash grain, oyster and family partnership timber operation in Northumberland County. He is a past president of the Northumberland-Lancaster County Farm Bureau.
In addition to his involvement in Farm Bureau, Hall serves as treasurer of the FFA Young Farmers of Northumberland and is a member of the Northern Neck Region Antique Automobile Club of America.
With 148,000 members in 88 county Farm Bureaus, VFBF is Virginia’s largest farm organization. Farm Bureau is a non-governmental, nonpartisan, voluntary organization that supports its members through legislative lobbying, leadership programs, commodity marketing and risk management services, insurance products and other benefits.
