News Release:
Directions to Convention: I-95, I-66 are best routes to Westfields Marriott
For the first time in history, the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation’s annual convention will be held in suburban Northern Virginia. This year’s location gives members in that part of the state an opportunity to stay close to home and provides all members an opportunity to enjoy one of the region’s finest hotels.
It also affords some unique opportunities to see the many sights of the nation’s capital.
Most members will want to use either Interstate 66 or Interstate 95 to get to the Westfields Marriott Washington Dulles Hotel in Chantilly near Dulles International Airport.
For those traveling north on I-95 the directions are a bit tricky, but for those using I-66 there are just a few turns.
Travelers coming from the south should use I-95 and take Exit 152, Dumfries Road, toward Manassas. This is state Route 234.
Fourteen miles later, veer onto Prince William Parkway and go straight for a short distance as the road becomes Liberia Avenue. You will turn right on Centreville Road, state Route 28 north. Continue to follow Route 28 for 7.8 miles.
At that point, take the Westfields Boulevard exit and merge onto Westfields Boulevard. Turn right on Stonecroft Boulevard and then left onto Conference Center Drive. The Westfields Marriott is at 14750 Conference Center Dr.
Others traveling from the south might want to exit I-95 earlier and take U.S. Route 17 north (Exit 133) just north of Fredericksburg, then turn right on state Route 28 near Bealeton. From there, follow state Route 28 to Westfield Boulevard and pick up the same route from above.
Still others might want to follow I-95 farther north to I-495 west and north to I-66 west.
From there, the directions are the same for those traveling east or west on I-66: Take Exit 53—state Route 28 toward Dulles International Airport. Then take the Westfields Boulevard west exit, veer right onto Stonecroft Boulevard and turn left onto Conference Center Drive.
Keep in mind that traffic will be heavy on Sunday, Nov. 25, the end of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
