Farm Bureau secures naming rights at new fairgrounds

DOSWELL—The Virginia Farm Bureau Federation has secured the naming rights to one of the first four buildings at The Meadow Event Park in Caroline County, where the State Fair of Virginia will relocate in 2009. The 75,000-square-foot exposition hall will be called Farm Bureau Center.

“Virginia Farm Bureau and the State Fair of Virginia—both have our roots in agriculture,” said VFBF President Wayne F. Pryor at the April 22 groundbreaking. “We promote agriculture, and I know the fair does the same through education, so we are proud to have a presence at the new fairgrounds.”

Americraft, Southern States and Union Bank & Trust also were recognized as naming partners.

Equidistant between Richmond and Fredericksburg, the Meadow is expected to be a major draw for about 2.3 million people living within a 60-mile radius of the park.
