Unfortunately, more accidents occur in our homes than on the job. This means we need to recognize the leading causes of home accidents and learn what we can do to reduce these common hazards.
Common types of home accidents:

Falls - includes falling from ladders or stairs, slipping on floors, especially senior citizens. |

Fires and Burns - includes burns, smoke or toxic fumes, especially the young and senior citizens. |
 |
Poisonings - includes carbon monoxide, cleaning products, medicines, foods, surprisingly, more so in adults and senior citizens. |
 |
Suffocations - includes children suffocating in plastic, bed clothing, or small objects lodged in the throat, in adults mainly choking on food. |
 |
Firearms, Drowning, Electrocution, Other Miscellaneous - completes the common causes of accidental deaths and injuries in the home. |
