Middlesex County cattle producer W. Ellis Walton of Church View was elected to a third term on the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation board of directors in December 2016.

He chairs the VFBF Aquaculture Advisory Committee and is a member of the Investment Committee and Membership Services Advisory Committee.

Walton has been a Farm Bureau member for 48 years, serves on the Middlesex County Farm Bureau board of directors and is a past president of that organization. He also serves on the board of the Virginia Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom.

He owns 435 acres of farmland and has 110 South Devon cattle. In addition to farming, Walton spent three years in the U.S. Army as an engineer heavy equipment repairman and worked for 35 years as a pipefitter.

He serves as a deacon and moderator at Hermitage Baptist Church. He and his wife, Linda, have three daughters, one son and seven grandchildren.
