About Countryway Insurance

On May 11, 2011, Countryway Insurance Co. became an official part of Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Co.

Countryway is a property and casualty insurance company based in Syracuse, N.Y. Countryway offers farm, home and auto insurance products in 10 states through more than 380 independent agencies. VFB Insurance purchased 100 percent of Countryway’s stock from United Farm Family Mutual Insurance Co., doing business as Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance.

At the time of purchase, Countryway had premiums in excess of $39 million and operated primarily in rural Kentucky, Maine, New England, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage with a Health Savings Account is effective on your first day, and we share the cost of your medical (including vision) and dental plans. Flexible Savings Plans also are available to help pay for child care and medical expenses.

Disability and Life Insurance

Coverage for basic life insurance starts 30 days after your start date, and will pay your beneficiary a benefit of two times your annual base salary up to $300,000 of coverage. After one year, employees are also eligible for Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability coverage.
