This Privacy Policy describes the types of personal information we obtain on our websites (collectively, the “Website”), applications, or other interactions (e.g., customer support, social media pages, events, and other communications) that you may have with us (all of these offerings collectively referred to herein as the “Services”), where we determine the means and purposes of processing the personal information (i.e., where we are the “controller” of the personal information). This Privacy Policy also describes how we use the information, the purposes for which we may use it, with whom we may share it, and how you can contact us about our information practices.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to:
- Personal information that we collect and process from job applicants, employees, directors, contractors, service providers, or similar personnel;
- Personal information collected by us through any other means, including on any other website operated or supported by us or any third party that does not link to this Privacy Policy;
- Personal information that we collect and process pursuant to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), or the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); or
- Personal information that we collect and process in connection with establishing eligibility for, or in connection with transactions concerning, insurance products, financial products and services offered by or through us.
In addition to the information provided in this Privacy Policy, we may provide additional or different notices describing our information use and disclosure practices related to other transactions you may have with us. If applicable, such additional or different notices will be presented to you relative to any other such transactions you may have with us as they arise.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason, at our sole discretion. We will notify you of any material changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy on our Website. Please check the Privacy Policy periodically for any updates. Unless applicable laws require us to obtain consent in a different manner, by using or accessing the Services, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy, and you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and
as amended by us. If you have any questions or comments about this Privacy Policy or our use of your personal information, please contact us trustcenter@vafb.com.

We may obtain certain personal information in connection with the Services, including:
- Contact information, including your e-mail address, name, home or work address, and telephone number.
- Device information, including your IP address, identifiers associated with your devices, hardware identifier, operating system and version, browser type, domain names, language preferences, access times, referring website addresses, and other device information.
- Social media handles, content and other data posted on our official social media pages or public message boards.
- Documents or other content you upload to the Services; and
- Other personal information that you submit to us.
Sources of Personal Information
We may collect personal information from the following sources:
(1) You (i.e., information you provide to us);
(2) Your devices (see “Information We Collect Through Automated Means” for more information)
(3) Our family of companies; and
(4) Our service providers and other third parties, such as data analytics providers, advertising and marketing partners, payment processors, accessibility and site search providers, operating systems and platforms, and data enrichment providers.
Information We Collect Through Automated Means
As you navigate and interact with our Services, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect information about your equipment, browsing actions, and usage patterns, which may include personal information. The information we obtain in this manner may include usage details, IP addresses, identifiers associated with your devices,
hardware identifier, operating system and version, web browser characteristics, device characteristics, language preferences, referring/exit pages, clickstream data and times of visits to the Services. These technologies help us remember your information, understand how you interact with our Services, tailor the Services to your preferences and deliver a better and more personalized experience, and otherwise manage and enhance the Services and our other offerings.
The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:
- Cookies (or other browser cookies) and similar technologies: A “cookie” is a small piece of data (a text file) that a website – when visited by a user – asks your browser to store on your device in order to remember information about you.
- Web Beacons. Some parts of the Services may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit Virginia Farm Bureau, for example, to count users who have visited those parts of the Services and for other related statistics.
We and our third-party partners use cookies, pixels, local storage, scripts, and similar technologies to help operate the Services, remember your preferences, conduct analytics, enhance security, and provide and measure advertising, including targeted advertising as described below.
Your browser may tell you how to be notified when you receive certain types of cookies or how to restrict or disable certain types of cookies. Please note, however, that if you elect not to accept cookies, some functionality and areas of the Services may be restricted. To learn how to manage your cookies, please follow the instructions from your specific browser. Where available, you may also manage certain cookie preferences through our cookie settings tool in the footer of the Services.
Analytics and Advertising
We may also use certain third-party analytics and advertising services, such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta advertising tools, and related cookies and pixels. The providers that administer these services may use cookies, pixels, scripts, and other automated technologies to collect information such as your IP address, device identifiers, browser characteristics, and your interactions with our Services and other websites and online services over time. We use this information to understand and improve the performance and content of the Services, measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns, detect and prevent fraud, and deliver and measure advertisements that may be tailored to your interests. You can learn more about how Google collects and processes data by visiting “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services” (currently available at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites) and Google’s Privacy Policy (currently available at https://policies.google.com/privacy). To learn more about Google Analytics and how to opt out, please visit https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
If you are interested in more information about these online advertising activities, and how you can generally control cookies from being put on your computer to deliver tailored advertising, you may visit the Digital Advertising Alliance's Consumer Opt-Out Link to opt-out of receiving tailored advertising from companies that participate in those programs. We do not control these opt-out links or whether any particular company chooses to participate in these opt-out programs. We are not responsible for any choices you make using these mechanisms or the continued availability or accuracy of these mechanisms.
Do Not Track
Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting that can send a signal to the online services you visit indicating that you do not wish to be tracked. Because there is not a common understanding on how to interpret the DNT signal, our Services may not respond to all browser DNT signals. Instead, you can use the range of other tools to control data collection and use, including the cookie controls described in this policy.
